Comments Thread For: Andre Ward Will Finally Return on June 20th in Oakland

WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (27-0, 14KOs) has announced that he's scheduled to return on June 20th at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. No opponent or network has been set. It will be Ward’s first fight since an HBO televised November 2013 decision win over Edwin Rodriguez.

Ward's career had stalled while he made several attempts to break a promotional contract with Goossen Promotions. Eventually the two sides settled and Ward inked an agreement earlier this year with Roc Nation Sports.

The funniest thing about all this is Ward just got rejected by SHO and HBO, and yet he thinks he's the A side in a future GGG fight.

With "no opponent or network" having been set you do wonder if Ward will fight on HBO? I still don't think HBO will want to pay Ward 1.5 million or plus dollars to fight some "OKish" fighter for a tune up.

Dude is paying BET to air his bum fight cause not even HBO who employs Ward will air his BS fights he trying to fight.

He never said he thought he was the A-Side vs GGG.

Then it really needs to be called out for what it is.... GGG gets approved to fight Geale / Murray / Macklin / Stevens / Rosado / Rubio / Monroe and he is a HBO fighter, but ward's opponents get turned down and they can never be as pathetic as the bunch I just mentioned, but blind biased people call out the obvious, but not the underlay - wake up and educate your brain - this is BS double standard shyt...
