Comments Thread For: Photos: Saunders, Eubank Tense Presser For Wembley Bill

British boxing’s biggest rivals Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank Jnr. will joint-headline a massive fight card in separate fights at the SSE Arena, Wembley, on Saturday 9th May as they close in on a potential Autumn blockbuster rematch. Undefeated Hatfield ace Saunders will feature in an International Middleweight Contest against an opponent to be announced, whilst Eubank Jnr. makes the first defence of his WBA Interim World title against tough Australian Les Sherrington.

A quality packed card will also feature WBO European Welterweight Champion Bradley Skeete and WBO European Super-Middleweight Champion Frank Buglioni in title defences, plus all-action Mitchell Smith and many more. Tickets, priced at £40, £50, £75, £100 and £150 are available from Eventim on 0844 249 1000 or www.eventim.co.uk and SSE Arena, Wembley, on 0844 815 0815 or www.ssearena.co.uk (Disabled Line 0208 782 5629). Why would a rematch between Eubank and Saunders be of any interest?
I thought Eubank was soundly beaten the first time?

It was pretty close. Think I had it a draw. Some had Saunders winning (most did), while some had Eubank winning. It was very much a fight of two halves. There'll be a rematch because it'll generate plenty of excitement and interest; the first fight was entertaining. Bad blood sells.

You have to be trolling. If you think that anybody "soundly" wins by spending the 2nd half of the fight in retreat, trying not to get smashed, and is hanging on for dear life in the final round, then you probably aren't an easy guy to reason with.

Saunders's showing in the first half of that fight get's over-shadowed at times. He was schooling Eubank.

Also, Eubank needs to stop referring to himself as a champion..it's an interim belt fella.

Commentators were biased towards Saunders, the first half was close with Saunders winning most rounds, landed nothing of note
