Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Expects Tough Fight in HBO Debut

    By Francisco Salazar - Finally!

While that phrase could describe the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight coming together after five years of negotiations and something called the 'Cold War,' the same could be said regarding Roman Gonzalez fighting on a premium network.

After years of fighting in his native Nicaragua and overseas in Japan, fight fans will get to see Gonzalez fight live on HBO.

So long are the days fight fans would have to find a suitable stream to watch online or wait a few days for a Roman Gonzalez fight to appear on YouTube.

Gonzalez will be fighting Edgar Sosa in a twelve round bout on May 16 at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. The bout will precede the HBO televised main event between WBA/IBO/WBC-interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin and Boxcino tournament winner Willie Monroe.

If boxing fans have not watched a Roman Gonzalez fight, they are in for a treat. Gonzalez has mostly dominated the junior flyweight and flyweight divisions with speed, power, and a technical prowess that few fighters in boxing have today. [Click Here To Read More]

Get ready for this man. Gonzalez is unstoppable. He is ranked the No.3 P4P fighter in the world for very good reason. He will destroy Sosa in the ring and has his eyes set on Inoue at the end of the year.

I predict that by 2016 he will be the new Ring P4P king, a 4 division world champion.

This guy is beating dudes with 40, 7, 8, 10, 15 losses and made it to top 3 that way. I don't even know where boxing is heading, but it looks like a scary place with fans and writers backing Gonzalez and GGG's crap resume.

As soon as Gonzales's name become associated with GGG and K2, expect the same fans who hate on GGG hate on Chocolatito soon. A matter of time.

He made it to top by not losing and winning belts in Japan where it is hard to win. Also, the smaller weights are a hard sell period but if you don't think this dude is the goods than I don't know what to tell you. He also has a win over Estrada as well.

he made it by being an undefeated three division champ and the lineal flyweight champ .

i always get a kick out of people like you who clearly get annoyed every time someone gets " too much " hype and just start blasting the guy for no reason .

His last opponent had 27 losses though that's unreal for a guy at the top of the p4p list. He's a great fighter but he's clearly beating on overmatched opposition. He's been lucky guys like Estrada, Rodriguez turned out to be world champs after he fought them, they were virtually unknown when he faced them.

Classic troll! Go ahead and enlighten us all as to who should be ranked at number 3 P4P. While you're at it, please remind us all who it is that he fought that had 40 losses.
