Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is not surprised by the unique agreement between Mexican television rivals, TV Azteca and Televisa, to simultaneously showcase the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao mega-fight on May 2nd.

Other networks - like Showtime and HBO in the United States and Sky Sports and BoxNation in the UK - fought tooth and nail over broadcast rights. Showtime (who have Mayweather ) and HBO (who have Pacquiao) will come together to stage the pay-per-view. Sky Sports outbid BoxNation to secure the rights.

In the Philippines, several of the major networks will come together under bid winner Solar Sports.
