If Canelo and his team would had waited a little longer the Cotto fight might had been signed. But no, Canelo was fighting for the May 2 date and knew that only Cotto would be any competition Floyd fighting anyone else than Manny.

Not sure how people can defend Cotto, I am sure he is not afraid, but just look at the facts, one guy has a fight, and the other still doesn't and it's obvious that now he just wants to make the best business moves, which is not synonymous with the best fights. When did the Roc deal get signed? Was Canelo really supposed to wait until Cotto got all his affairs in order?

It was cuz cotto wanted to wait if he could get floyd, which was best for him... Canelo wanted the date so he couldnt wait... ONe fighter wanted to wait it out and the other couldnt... simple as tht.
