Started his career as a kick boxer and after winning a World title in there he switched to boxing. How many boxers have done that? Vitali? And?

No amateur experience and transitioned to become a serious pro. Beating Emmanuel Taylor and of course one of the most hyped fighters in Provodnikov who gave Bradley hell and I think should've won that bout. Then to get up from being knockdown twice and a swollen eye and win the WBO belt was mesmerizing.

After that I was very amazed at the heart he showed against Pacquiao getting up from so many knockdowns and still going to the decision.

Anybody fighting Algieri got to come with their A game cuz this man ain't going no where.

I don't think you are showing heart if you're getting up after u intentionally went down to take a break! I also found it astonishing that this nutritionist couldn't easily make 144 in the biggest fight of his career even though he's a 140 lbs fighter.
Algieri is a B level fighter who beat a C+ B- level fighter is Provodnikov. The kid.has got a long way to go before I call him a top notch fighter.

Neither did Rios, but when Brook fights him we can all hear how great of a match up it is.

I'm not sure about the "not trying to win" part. He was out of his depth and had no power to keep Pacquiao honest.

I wouldn't put Algeri in the "He didn't try to win, he tried to survive" category after his fight with Provoknikov. Algeri was actually landing a lot of straight rights on Pacquiao. It's just he doesn't have the power to make Pacquiao respect it. They say power is born and not made. And Algeri doesn't have the best chin in the world either. He did well in his career for what he had. Not to mention he started from kickboxing. I respect Algeri. He's got heart.

If that was Rios trying then Algieri was better at it.

Rios was target practice. Algieri at the very least had movement and wasn't a sitting duck. Chris got dropped cuz he tried to punch, so he gave openings. Hard to do against Rios, when you don't even punch and all you do is stand with your hands up.
