Carlos Cuadras held an open workout and weigh-in ceremony on Saturday for his 7-day pre-fight weight check ahead of his upcoming clash with Luis Concepcion. The unbeaten junior bantamweight makes the third defense of his belt on Saturday, April 4 in Metepec, Mexico.
All fights sanctioned by the World Boxing Council (WBC) require a 30-day and 7-day safety check, to ensure that fighters are within prescribed weight limits and to minimize unhealthy practices of cutting a lot of weight in a short amount of time. Fighters cannot weigh more than 10% above the contracted limit 30 days out, and no more than 5% at the seven-day mark.
