    Shannon Briggs is to Heavy.

He is fighting at a weight of around 260 or so. That is way to heavy, he used to fight at around 224 o so, he is older now and he is 6'4'', it seems to me a weight of 240 would be good, perhaps 237 maybe 235, Bowe was at his best when he fought at that weight... ..... Briggs needs to drop some pounds fast...............

That's my only problem with him, it seems like he doesn't train enough, or has an eating disorder. If he fought around 235 or 240 like you said, I'd take him over a ton of fighters.

Haven't seen Shannon's last fight. But against Mercer he looked quite solid. And he keeps knocking people out. Guess his recent opposition just is no motivation for him to train as hard as he could.

          I pretty much agree

Briggs is 6'4" and thickly built but if he had consistently stayed in top shape he would still be fighting in the low 230s. 260+ lbs. is simply too heavy for him if he wants to compete against the very best. For 1 thing, it tires a man out to carry that much weight around for 12 rounds. Danny Williams had that problem when he fought Vitaly Klitschko, and Briggs will have the same problem if he fights any of the top-ranking heavyweights out there today.

There are a few heavyweights out there that can carry 260+ lbs. or more and look fit, namely Lance Whitaker, Valuev, Tye Fields and Jameel McCline, but there aren't many more, and I don't believe that Briggs belongs in that group.

I don't think he'll make a noise at the very top, he always had a lot of talent, bt he's lost his big fights and is not getting any younger.
