He and Erik Morales both understand and speak english, but they don't speak english in the states when being interviewed out of respect for their country men.

I remember Barrera was speaking english after the Hamed fight and Larry Merchant, quickly looked over to the translater and so to translate what Barerra had just said. Even though I and other were able to understand Barerra in english, but Merchant acted as if he couldnt' understand Barerra.
