Comments Thread For: Brook: Mayweather is Getting Old, I'm in My Prime

KELL BROOK once loved Floyd Mayweather Jr so much he named his Jack Russell after him.

But the Sheffield welterweight is now ready for a bite at boxing's top dog.

And he insists he is not barking mad in believing he can beat him.

Brook, 28, takes on Jo Jo Dan tonight in the first defence of his IBF title at the Motorpoint Arena in his hometown.

Brook is a text book orthodox fighter. Floyd takes him to school.

        When?

I think Kell Brook is confusing Mayweather with Pacquiao. I defy Kell Brook or anyone else to name one single occasion when Mayweather has chosen to fight an opponent that is coming off of a weak performance or a loss. I swear a lot of people just use Mayweather's name to make a headline on a boxing blog. Maidana gives Broner his first loss and first knockdown but if Brook puts on a good show against Jo Jo Dan he thinks Mayweather will avoid him. That makes absolutely no sense.

Beating Porter and Jo is not enough, he squeeked by Porter. He needs another big name and good win to be seriously in contention for either Pac or Floyd

I think May's last fight will be the Pac rematch. It's cash out time for both of them.

Brook would give Floyd too much time to think, and lose. You need a sudden rhythym like Thurman's or Pac's to beat Floyd

Floyd would pretty much shut him out. He'd have a much better chance against Pac
