You think that cotto is going to compete with ppvs against floyd fighting on the same day?
Wow, learn to read bro. My post literally said the wanted the fight for May 2nd but would have a stipulation that it would be moved off that date if the Pac/May fight happened. No one was going to compete with that fight for obvious reasons but they wanted to announce the fight BEFORE pac/may and would have moved off that date if need be.

It's also funny to read that Cotto has no leverage because all he did was sign with RocNation, who is Canelo going to fight? He already said he isn't moving up to 160 so that rules out GGG. Cotto said GGG is an option, so once again what is Canelo going to do?

Another haters bull**** has been exposed.
Cotto is up against the wall, Roc didn't sign a guy to fight cripples and bums while paying him big sums of money. They are going to force him to make the Canelo fight to see some ROI.

You can try to deflect this on Canelo all you want but HBO has no problem signing him and I'm sure he could fight anywhere he pleased. Cotto doesn't have that privilege that's why HBO told him "our way or the highway".

This has nothing to do with hating Cotto, this is about his diva ways getting him into a pikle and daddy HBO slapping some sense into him.

First fight I saw was maybe 92-93, didn't start following boxing religiously until 96. Easy to figure out my age by my screen name.

Cotto has a history grievances with trainers and promoters, it's not just one fighter calling him a diva that makes him hard to deal with.
Cotto is the diva, yet he fought Mosley, Margarito, Manny, Mayweather and Sergio Martinez before any of them faced each other. He's a diva that somehow ends up fighting anyone and everyone.

How can he fight Canelo on another channel if he's signed to HBO? He has to work with HBO because they have Canelo by the nutsuck, it's not the other way around.

Kind of figured it would play out this way when Cotto signed for 3 fight with the Roc.

1st fight against a beatable opponet probably aiming for k-9 because he also brings a belt into the equation and can be used as a bargaining chip against Canelo

2nd fight is the $ fight and Canelo brings in the most dough

3rd fight if he loses could be his retirement fight or if he wins can do whatever he wants

Cotto should get props for what he's accomplished in the ring and maximizing his earnings outside of it.

He wasn't always a diva, with age his estrogen levels rose and pink crocs glistened.

No reason to get upset, the sport is full of divas.

Ok let's put this ****** argument to rest once and for all. Cotto was trying to negotiate a deal with Floyd in the background while negotiating with Canelo in the forefront, thinking he was a bigger star than Canelo. Canelo finally realized what was happening and understood this was making him look like playing second fidel to Floyd and said phuck that Oscar tell Cotto he has till Friday to make up his mind. Cotto then told Floyd dude you gotta tell me what's up to which Floyd said just hold on a little longer. Friday came Gaby told Cotto you gotta make a decision now and Cotto said phuck Canelo and his deadlines, calling Canelo's bluff and Canelo said F you and moved on. Floyd pressured to fight Pac told Cotto sorry I got fight Pac but if you can hold on to that strap we can do meet later. Cotto through this how negociation discovered that Bob was was negotiating in bad Faith decided to dump TR and fight Canelo later on without TR's involvement. And Bob telling the media that Cotto pulled out because Canelo was challenging him in public made it easier for Cotto to dump TRY. So it was a war of egos that kept the fight from happening in June. Before anything I'm speculating.

Yeah but King A side Cotto's adviser already said
So now all of a sudden they really want to make the fight? HBO putting the screws to Cotto is whats making this fight happen. I have to give HBO credit here, they didn't enable Cotto on his destructive diva ways. They know he doesn't have options so they basically gave him demands or he can go fight on FS1 or Telemundo.
