Cotto Rips GGG's Resume

He will have two other title holders left to defeat. Then once he has unified the division, all middleweights will have to fight him if they want recognition. Once there is no one left to fight, he will move up to SMW and do the same thing. By the time his career is done, he will have become the unified, undisputed champion in both the MW and SMW divisions and that will be more than enough to get him into the HOF. There is also a very good chance that he achieves this and remains undefeated.
Neither Cotto nor Canelo will ever have the balls to fight Golovkin. Canelo is waiting for him to move to SMW before fully moving into the MW division and Cotto will retire if he has to to avoid getting his ass severely beaten in the ring.
By the way... Loeffler has stated that they are ready to accept just about any terms that Cotto would propose for a fight and Cotto still has never approached them. COWARD.Comment

that was back on the days when sergio was calling for big paydays trying to get them at 154, canelo wasnt even after sergios title...
if sergio was to make the weight comfortable then 157 was a reasonable cw...
and by the way canelo was only 22 at the time...
i mean at some point sergio even offered 150 for floyd...Comment

And I agree with you on this, only I wanted to avoid the whole, he left the negotiations first argument it's been argued at nausea. I think the whole argument is non important now because they supposedly are negotiating again to fight in the fall. I think the Canelo fight is way bigger then the GGG fight for Cotto and I am in the minority when I say that both Cotto and Canelo have good chances in beating GGG. Cotto can because of experience he has fought all the different styles available and Canelo has youth and also has fought almost every style already.Comment

See we were having such an interesting discussion then you went and called the most exciting fighter (second only to Pac) in the last ten years a coward. You do realize that Ricans are Cotto fans because he is one of us, but do you know why non Ricans are fans of his? I'll tell you why because he is a warrior and has probably never been in a boring fight, never ducked anyone and has spilled his blood, sweat and tears in the ring all for the enjoyment of boxing fans.
Cotto will gain more respect by fighting GGG and losing or by vacating the title and dropping to 154 than by ducking him.Comment

He refuses to fight GGG and he refuses to give a straight answer to the question when asked. Those are not the actions of a brave or honorable champion. All he has to do is say "Yes, I will honor my championship requirements and accept my mandatory defense after I have had my voluntary." Or "I have no intention of defending against Gennady Golovkin as I have decided that the middleweight division is not where I am best suited and I will vacate the title and return to 154." Giving vague responses and avoiding the real answers is a sign of cowardice. Be a man and admit that you do not belong in this division or be a man and accept the responsibilities of being a MW champion and fight the best in the division. Either will gain my respect. Doing neither will earn him the label of coward.

Cotto is just that way. He does not like to go beyond the "whatever is good business, I will consider," mode. He is not one to call the newspapers to complain etc. He keeps his business close and does not seem to concern himself with being camera friendly etc. It is what it is. They can't all be media friendly happy go lucky types.Comment

Cotto and his team, on the other hand, are quite willing to disparage GGG by commenting on the number of people attending his fight in Monaco, not being bright enough to realize that the net worth of those 900 people is probably more than the crowd of almost 20,000 who will see Floyd-Manny live. And they also make foolish comments such as Roach saying that he never sees GGG on television. Maybe he should turn the damn thing on now and then and he would realize that the fighter no one ever sees is Cotto.
I understand crap like that coming from fans who really don't know any better, or from a fighter and his camp when they are preparing to fight someone. But Cotto and Roach should STFU when it comes to Golovkin because it just makes them look worse and more cowardly with every comment they make.Comment
