Seems the kids here like to discredit Cotto's win at MW, and yet want to fault him for getting into the weight like a SMART fighter and taking a voluntary against a live dog like Heiland. Cotto did not get a lawnmower for his 16th birthday. He is no promoter's fool nor is he walking around with one working eye. Cotto is smart and he knows GGG fight is not going away. It's hilarious how the ONLY fight people want to see is GGG VS Cotto. Everything else is crickets... The haters don't expect a competitive fight from Cotto, so then the wise man has to ask...WHY then the interest?
Petty envy and flag bias politics.
You guys are convinced Cotto dies in the ring against GGG. You call yourself fans? "GGG destroys Cotto in 3 rounds doe..." What REAL "fan" calls for a fight he truly feels will be a blowout?
Haters 101.
"No doe but doe, GGG needs Cotto's belt to be a hero doe because heros earn their belts by fighting smaller guys they are too much for so as to impress us doe"
Raise your standards. GGG does NOT become a MIDDLEweight hero for winning a belt from a former Jr. welter.
Raise those standards are least admit your real interest in seeing Cotto vs GGG. You can't have it both ways. "Cotto gets destroyed easy" and "GGG is a beast for beating a former Jr Welter!"

Sergio flew like a butterfly, stung like a bee in that ring.

He (Heiland) is in his prime, great movement, great volume and packs a punch, more so, its a natural MW. ***! Probably, walks around 20+ lbs than Cotto!
Either way, its a voluntary defense and Cotto could fight anyone. I wanted to see him expose Canelo once more....but he decided to run away and fight Kirkland who has not fought in over 18 months, and it was over 200lbs just a few weeks ago having to lose ~50lb in 8 weeks to meet this fight.

Boom!
I wish they would spend more time discussing Canelo's win over Floyd than they do trying to discredit everything Cotto does. When you have to detract from someone else to elevate yourself, it usually means you ain't jack shyt.
"Oh but so what if Martinez knee was strong and fast in round 6... It was broken in round 1 doe"
Sergio's own words will always ring true. "I got fckin snuffed by a Taino God and he was nothing like Murray or Chavez Jr."
