Comments Thread For: Brook's Trainer: We Won't Make Same Mistake as Porter

Kell Brook has vowed not to make the same mistake as the man from whom he ripped the world crown when he makes the first defence of his IBF welterweight title in Sheffield on Saturday night.

Brook takes on Canada-based Romanian Jo Jo Dan in a bout which bears all the hallmarks of a triumphant homecoming before the 28-year-old sets his sights on much more lucrative 147lbs assignments.

Brook had himself been considered a convenient underdog when he went to California in August and surprised the incumbent champion Shawn Porter to wrest the belt by split decision.

So theyre admitting that Brook would have lost to Shawn Porter, whoever that is, if Porter had been in proper condition. So strike that "name' from Brooks resume. Now who else has Brook beat? And who are the guys he think has earned the right to challenge?

i took it as they wont get held all night long while their trying to do clean work...kell should have been DQ'd imo..i love him as a fighter but that was a ****ty performance and terrible way to steal a mans belt

Count me in, if you have tarter sauce and ranch instead of mayonnaise.

No, they're saying that Porter probably didn't come in with the right preparations or mindset. That's Porter's fault and he would've lost anyway, he is one dimensional and too crude to beat Brook. I did find it strange how Porter struggled with the weight and tired during the fight despite all the talk of how fit he is and how he's on a constant diet to keep his weight in check.

Porter is usually a humble guy.

For this fight he was all "what time is it??" And telling everyone who he was looking at after Kell Brook etc. he basically thought he had a stiff
              coming over.

Then was schooled. It was great.

Yeah Porter definitely over looked Brook.. I also think Brook ruined Porter, porter is now a scrub.
