I dont know Boston (or even America) that well, but could people show up just due to there not being many world level fights staged there?
I know if a fight was staged where I am I'd be there no matter what (or who), and i could probably convince my casual boxing fan friends to go too.
Actually for PBC shows all you have to do is tweet at PBC a couple days before the fight and they'll give you free tickets. Or just use that company 1iota they'll put you by the ramp for free, all you have to do is cheer the ring walks.
As much as Dirrell gets ripped on for his lame behavior against Froch, I thought he won that fight. That's really impressive for his first title shot, especially considering what Froch has done since.
Not arguing with Abraham being his most impressive performance, just a mention.

It was definitely impressive, especially in light of what Froch went on to do.
It was a decent performance, but I thought he should have clearly won, and he didnt because of his own tactics. With Abraham he learnt from that and was much more active, stayed in range and just boxed the crap out of him up until the 10th round.
With Froch he hinted at what he could do, with Abraham he went out and did it.
A UK fighter nobody knows about vs. an American who couldn't sell a winning lottery ticket, in Boston? They're gonna have to comp that whole arena.

Casual boxing fans in Boston will not be familiar with Dirrell or Degale. Boston is a great sports town for hockey, football, basketball, college sports and especially baseball but there isn't a big boxing scene here. Occationally we'll have a semi-high profile boxing event here e.g. Hatton-Collazo but those are few and far between.
I can't see that fight selling in Boston, none of those guys is connected there. I can't imagine many people from the Flint area going out there to support him.
