Comments Thread For: David Haye Plans Return, Targets Deontay Wilder Shot

Former two-division world champion David Haye (26-2, 24KOs) has been out of the ring since knocking out Dereck Chisora in five rounds in July of 2012. Due to various injuries, he withdrew from two scheduled dates to face Tyson Fury.

Haye informed talkSPORT that he intends to return to the ring in 2015. He wants to have a few contests against ranked contenders and then intends to challenge WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32KOs). While preparing for the canceled fight with Fury, Haye used Wilder as a sparring partner.

Haye doesn't deserve it. His pathetic ducking of fury was not championlike.

When have we heard this before? In 2008 Haye said he'd fight a top 10 HW, but ended up facing Barrett. A year later, he gets Valuev and the WBA belt.

Either they'll feed him Michael Sprott and then say he's ready for Wilder, or they really mean it this time - there's good fights to be had with Povetkin, Pulev, Thompson, Tarver, Stiverne, Cunningham, Ruiz Jr, or even Briggs, Ustinov and Arreola.
