  • Comments Thread For: Roach Using De La Hoya Loss For Mayweather Strategy

Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is constructing the most important game plan of his entire career. On May 2nd, Roach's superstar boxer Manny Pacquiao will face 47-0 Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The WBO, WBC and WBA welterweight titles will be at stake.

This is not the first time for Roach to appear in the corner opposite Mayweather. In 2007, Roach was the trainer for Oscar De La Hoya when he lost a close twelve round split decision to Mayweather. The fight generated a record 2.44 million pay-per-view purchases. Mayweather-Pacquiao is expected to break that existing record.

In other words, he's using the same blueprint that didn't work, that Oscar passed along to every one of Floyd's GBP opponents.

            no gameplan needed.

pac would beat floyd with no camp as a short notice replacement.

pac too fast, too good. floyd is a hypejob. america's joe calzaghe.

Look how easy Manny's left punch landed on Floyd jr's face! I can't wait to see Floyd's face after the fight. Pacman by STOPPAGE =there's a reason "why" Floyd's ducking Manny for years.

No ****, Roach. The gameplan has been the same since day 1. It's no secret.

Oscar didn't have the stamina to apply your gameplan for 12 rounds and Pacquiao doesn't either. Nor does Manny have the size or strength advantages, not to mention a jab...

This is another ****-a-roach mindgame. Oscar was younger & more skilled then than Pacquiao is now. Plus he's never been ktfo! People need to get their eyes checked before 5/2. Some will see what they want to believe. Others won't believe what they're seeing.
