Whatever happened to Calvin 'The Boxing Banker' Brock?

Had to be one of the funniest nicknames of all time. He was a solid fighter but then just disappeared.

He made some decent cash with the klitchko fight, and then lost to eddie chambers..

Retired and preserved his long term health..

Basically got into the sport, made some decent money, landed a title shot, realized he wasn't champion material, and left the game with his health intact

I was a fan. His fight with undefeated Timur Ibragimov was good.

Klitschko ruined him though. He was never the same after that.

        This from Boxrec...

Brock was forced into permanent retirement due to botched eye surgery in December 2007. The procedure's intent was to repair a detached retina in his right eye, suffered in his last bout with Eddie Chambers. As a result of a surgical mistake, Brock was left legally blind in the affected right eye.
He also underwent shoulder surgery after his last bout.
Became a commercial real estate broker after retirement.

he seemed to have lost his desire and confidence after the wlad loss and put on 20 lbs against fast eddy chambers. big mistake,,,,he did well in the first half of the fight and ran out of gas. he had some descent skills and did give wlad some rough patches early on before getting steel hammered

What rough patches? Is not get killed a rough patch? I don't recall any moment where he looked like he might win the fight.

it wasn't rough as in wlad getting hurt but brock won a couple of the earlier rounds when wlad forgot his jab. winning two or three rounds is a lot more than most fighters have done against wlad in the last ten yrs

Wlad executed that dude slowly.. It was a picture perfect breakdown of an opponent behind the jab, setting up the power shots...
