Former two division world champion Bernard Hopkins gave his take on the upcoming mega-match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. The fight, with the WBO/WBC/WBA welterweight titles at stake, is going to happen on May 2nd from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Hopkins expects Mayweather to bring his best, because Pacquiao will be a deadlier challenger than Marcos Maidana, Ricky Hatton or Miguel Cotto. Mayweather usually picks his punches carefully and fires. To beat Pacquiao, Hopkins says Mayweather will need to throw more punches than he's ever thrown in the past.

That's a total hedge your bet pick. If Mayweather wins, Hopkins was right. If Pacquiao wins, Hopkins was still right since he said controversial, suggesting he thinks Pacquiao will win but get screwed.

I just have a hard time seeing how Floyd is going to be able to avoid those machine gun punches that Pac throws without increasing his punch output. Like B-Hop said he's going to have to make Pac think before he throws and that is going to take a couple of rounds if that.

The more I think about it the more I think Floyd is going to get busted up a bit in this one. He'll win but no one has beaten Pac without going through some hell. Damn, I can't wait until fight night. I'm going to be standing up with my drink the entire fight tense as ****.
