Comments Thread For: DeGale: I'm Facing The Better Dirrell, I'll Beat Him

Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (20-1, 14KOs) is waiting for a finalized date for his ordered fight with Andre Dirrell (24-1, 16KOs). They will fight for the vacant IBF super middleweight title. The match went to a purse bid, which was won by Warriors Boxing on behalf of Al Haymon, who is Dirrell's manager.

There were rumors of the fight taking place on April 24th in Chicago, but DeGale says that won't be the case.

    sober words.

hmph, sounds like you know who your getting into the ring with, and those are good examples of past UK fighters having success in America. Seems to me your taking this fight very serious and I'm sure you'll be prepared to the best of your ability.

But I gotta tell you, I don't see you winning this 1, your not gonna be successful in your travels to America cause I cant see anything you do that Andre Dirrell isn't better at, more athletic, more dynamic, more of everything and experience....a chance?, of course anything can happen in a fight.

But I don't see anything happening but a woopin for Degale. :ANYWORD:

I think degale will beat dirrell.. I think he clips dirrell when he has his hands down doing his matrix defense, maybe not get stopped but I think it changes the fight

Either fight would be good imo. I honestly haven't followed DeGeale too much but the last few times that I have seen him, he looked pretty beast. I'd favor him to beat Andre, who has been very inactive the past few years and a step up like this is much different from the cabbie he [Dirrell] beat last time out.

It's not just the USA where Brit's have shone. Prime examples are Ken Buchanan/Ismeal Laguna @ San Juan & John H.Stracey beating Jose Napoles in Mexico City!
