Why wasn't Canelo able to do what Maidana did in the first Mayweather fight?

Maidana fought inside and Canelo didn't. Maidana used his jab(Jabbing up and downstairs, changing levels while moving and throwing the jab) better than Canelo, showed better footwork than Canelo.

Canelo threw 526 punches. Maidana threw 858. That's over 300 more punches Mayweather has to worry about. Conservative work rates will get you nowhere with Mayweather. When you slow the match down like that you have to be way more creative or your opponent is gonna catch on fast. Maidana throwing all of those punches from everywhere does open him up to be countered more, but on the flip Mayweather is also worried about getting clipped himself.

I know Canelo fancies himself a classy boxer, but that really wasn't the time to try and show somebody up with those skills.

Let's be honest here. Have Chino ever fought as dirty as he did against any opponent as he did against Mayweather in that first fight? No!

Simply put, Chino and his team was willing to do anything to win. This the same gym that had Margarito plasters in there. They already messed up their right to choose their gloves once they had tampered with their first pair. Plus if Chino couldn't knockout Broner, then what makes you think he can get Floyd iron chin out of there? THINK ******.
