Why wasn't Canelo able to do what Maidana did in the first Mayweather fight?

Canelo is supposedly the better over all fighter, definitely much more hyped.

Going into the May Vs Canelo fight, I expected that it would look alot like May Vs Maidana 1, with the younger, bigger, fighter pressing the action.
Instead it looked like Canelo was way out of his league.

Was it a simple styles make fights issue, or is Maidana a better overall inside fighter? Maybe better cutting off the ring than Canelo?

Or was Floyd just lacking on the night of May Vs Maidana 1?

Because he's not a bullrush fighter, and Mayweather "didn't fight that way for the fans" against Nelo. Nelo would have possible KOd him if Mayweather "would have fought that way for the fans."

Maidana is a wild pressure fighter with better stamina and footspeed than Canelo.

Canelo is a boxer puncher who likes to fight mid range, and has bad stamina issues, plus he had a ******ed game plan trying to pot shot mayweather.

Chepo thought, like Roach thinks, that Floyd had slowed down and Canelo's youth would be enough for Floyd. Thought was obviously wrong. Chepo has correctly realized after the fact that Floyd fights how he wants to fight.

Too many fighters make the mistake of trying to be patient with floyd and not give him opening for counters, but all that does is turn the fight into a tactical slow paced affair and floyd will box ears off and coast to a victory..

It's better to be aggressive and let your hands go and get lucky, instead of being patient because you have ZERO chance of outboxing floyd in a tactical affair..

Maidana had the right gameplan early but didn't have the endurance and stamina to do it the whole fight...
