His half brother, Bruce Buffer, who I thought was his son, always struggles to sound like him. Of course he growls, unlike Michael's effortless booming sound. The Buffer name was certainly used in this case. There are more deserving ones that could take Bruce's place.

Michael is def better than Bruce. They didn't meet until they were adults but Bruce is the one responsible for Michael copyrighting "let's get ready to rumble."
