Lomachenko open to fighting Rigo at 126 no BS CW

It's all about legacy. There's a lot of good featherweights right now. It's a hot division. If Rigo dominated 126 and ended up beating Lomachenko,...he'd perhaps be an ATG especially in the lower divisions.

But if he's just content staying where he is,..he'd be another great fighter..But will he be remembered 20 years from now?

A lot of casuals don't know anything about 122 or below.. 126 is where you can get a bit more respect. Not much of a difference... But it's an original weight class.

If im honest the changes of Rigo becoming an ATG at this stage in his career, with the political mess that surrounds him, are pretty slim.

All im hoping for is to get in the ring a few more times with the top guys in his division, maybe at catchweights, or even full 126 for the right fights, so that he can prove his boxing skills again.

I seriously doubt he will be able to get enough top fighters in the ring to string together any kind of meaningful legacy in the pro game

A 23 year old junior LW. Rigondeaux is approaching his mid 30's, theres no more growing to be done. No more filling out.

Rigo at 122 is the same as Mayweather at 147. It will take a big money fight to get Rigo up above 122 and he will try his best to impose catchweights or rehydration limits.

For the record i do think Rigondeaux is good enough to be one of the best at 126, however there is a huge risk of him losing if he fights there consistently. And the fact is if he loses now, at this stage of his career, thats it for him. Other top fighters will have absolutely no reason to face him and he would never get a big fight again. Christ look how much people talk about the KD's he's suffered, can you imagine if he lost?

With all that I noted, if Lomachenko did compromise and agreed to a catchweight at 124... That would be great. And it'd be an awesome fight.

But I guess we can't expect him to and understand his position. Loma is willing to fight anyone in his division... Including Walters, who doesn't want it right now.

Risk/Reward. If he loses and gets paid handsomely its not a bad move.

But right now his next move Depends on how this Frampton/Quigg situation plays out. If he can't get those fights we will never see him on TV again unless he goes up.

Plenty of guys clearly are willing to fight Rigo at 126. No arguments about the "champs" at 122 being unwilling to fight Rigo, but the guys at 126 would have no problem facing Rigo. It's really up to the networks to meet each sides financial demands.
