David Lemieux is on the rise, heading into a world title fight four years after he suffered his first pro defeat.
That year, 2011, was a tough one for Lemieux, as he got stopped in seven rounds by Marco Antonio Rubio and then proceeded to lose in his next outing, dropping a majority decision to Joachim Alcine.
Since then, though, he’s won eight straight, including a three-round knockout of Fernando Guerrero and a 10th-round technical knockout of Gabriel Rosado in 2014, all of which will land him a shot at a vacant world title. That bout, against Hassan N’Dam, will happen “hopefully at the end of May,” according to Lemieux’s manager, Camille Estephan.
