Puerto Rican lightweight prospect, Felix Verdejo (16-0, 12KOs), is pegged for stardom and the heir to the likes of Felix Trinidad and Miguel Cotto. Currently he is scheduled to fight on April 25th on the island in Guaynabo against Marco Lopez as the featured performer on UniMas.
Sources say that if everything should go well on that night, Verdejo will be slated for a quick turnaround in June in what could be his first HBO appearance at the Theater of Madison Square Garden in New York City. The date could be June 13th (where Top Rank has a hold on the venue) which is the day before the annual Puerto Rican Day Parade.
