He fought Proska back in 2012,so obviously their has to be some hyperbole at play here.

Sanchez likes to run his mouth to much, he doesn't show the respect kovalev deserves.

Kovalev was trained by him for a bit then left for Jackson I believe. I know Abel as stated several times that GGG is a much better fighter than Kovalev or something along those lines

I think he left him after the Simakov fight. Not sure if there is any relation.

Apparently Abel got some kind of sick satisfaction out of watching them go to war in sparring,and Kovalev was a bit weary of hurting Golovkin because they are friends.

I think this was the case. Kovalev probably thought it made no sense for him and GGG to kill each other in sparring and that's why he left. Which I believe was smart on his part because those 2 sparring regularly would not be good for their careers or health.
