According to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, the May 2nd mega-fight is bigger than ever before.

When Floyd Mayweather Jr. officially announced last month that he was finally facing Manny Pacquiao, a lot of experts and fighters were of the opinion that it should have happened five or six years ago.

The two sides were in deep negotiations around 2009/2010, but those discussions fell apart over the issue of drug testing.

While the hype is high from all the years arguing and complaining about the fight I think 5 years ago it was the best time because Manny was coming off the Cotto win and Floyd came back shut out Marquez. Both had big and flawless wibs and were primed. I am still looking forward to the fight on May 2nd.

That's what you want to be believe but history already recorded that Manny walked away to fight Clottey so apparently he did not want the fight. Also both Roach and Arum have gone on record recently stating that Manny's chances now are better to beat Mayweather then they were 5 years ago. So you guys keep clinging on to this assumption because you have nothing to back it up.

Pacquiao walked away from the random testing 5 years ago. Not Mayweather or Arum.
