Comments Thread For: Hearn: Kameda-McDonnell on Figueroa-Burns Card

Ricky Burns and Jamie McDonnell will be in action on the same day as Eddie Hearn's Birmingham fight night, making it a busy day for the promoter.

McDonnell will unify the bantamweight titles with Tomoki Kameda before Burns faces fellow former world champion Omar Figueroa on May 9, with both fights taking place in San Antonio, Texas.

Hearn is also promoting a Birmingham event on the same night, featuring a host of British talent, so it promises to be a Transatlantic night to remember for fight fans.

The WBO president seems to have different ideas about whether this is a unification fight.

Yeah i read that the WBO prez said that they recognize Juan Carlos Payano as the only champ in the division. He change his mind and allowing the unification?

Kameda vs. McDonnell should be a decent scrap.
