It beggars belief that Espinoza actually signed off on Garcia receiving $2m to fight Rod Salka.

I just looked up the current ranking of Garcia's last 4 opponents. Matthysse #1, Herrera #5, Salka NR, Peterson #2. Total coward.

Even though he ended up embarrassing him, Mauricio Herrera actually wasn't ranked in the top 10 when Garcia picked him to fight in his Puerto Rican homecoming. At the time was seen as a beatable soft touch.

            I clearly stated current ranking.

Herrera beat Danny IMO 7-5. It was not embarrassing. It was just that Danny beat a monster in his last fight and Herrera wasn't seen as another monster. If you take Herrera at face value (a top-5 JWW), there is nothing embrassing about his loss.

            Hatton-Pacquiao is embarrassing.

I'm aware, but if the intention was not to fight a top ranked guy then he doesn't get credit for seeking out a top opponent.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, there's no need to take aim at poor old Ricky.

It was embarrassing as it was Danny's PR "homecoming" and he was heavy favorite to win and ended up needing the officials.

Danny landed more power shots by far, and Maurico landed more jabs...

Postfight press conference: "Danny was talking more smack than usual, so maybe he was trying to pretend that he was in shape for the fight..."

Even Herrerra knows that was not Danny at his best. Danny took the fight lightly but still landed more power shots and did ebough as the CHAMP to get the win.

I guess the judges like power shots more than jabs...

No man. Eating the turn buckle and taking naps in the ring are much more embarrassing than having a tough fight against a guy you underestimated.

Herrerra is a good boxer and Danny knows this now. I would LOVE to see a rematch.

This has been discussed to death, but one thing is clear, Herrera did more than enough to warrant a rematch but somehow Rod Salka ended up getting it. No bueno.
