Comments Thread For: Linares-Mitchell, Gradovich-Selby, Joshua on May 30th

Jorge Linares will defend his WBC lightweight title against mandatory challenger Kevin Mitchell on May 30 at London’s O2, according to Eddie Hearn. Eddie Hearn, Mitchell’s promoter, told Sky Sports News that he has reached an agreement with Golden boy, who represent Linares, for the bout.

Lee Selby’s IBF featherweight title challenge to Evgeny Gradovich plus Anthony Joshua against Kevin Johnson will feature on the same show, confirming yesterday’s news that the Selby fight has been pushed back from its April date. Sky will televise the bill.

No way in hell is this PPV, that said it wouldn't surprise me if that shyster Hearn tried to make it one. Joshua-Johnson is a complete and utter mismatch, only question is whether AJ can stop him....Mitchell-Estrada and Gradovich-Selby are both decent fights, the British fighters have solid chances to win, but let's be real, it's standard Sky Sports fare. Can't go turning just decent cards, with no real stars on them, into PPV events....

          That's a solid line up.

Kevin Mitchell looked sensational in his last fight. Probably better than he's ever looked. I always thought he was very good, but an underachiever. Always choked when the lights got bright. Here's his chance at Linares, also another very good fighter who has somewhat underachieved in his career.

Gradovich vs. Selby is another good matchup. I'd favor Selby, but Gradovich always finds ways to comeback in fights.
