  • Comments Thread For: Judge Rules Helenius Still Under Contract With Sauerland

A court ruling on Wednesday declared that unbeaten heavyweight Robert Helenius is still under contract with Sauerland Event.

In a long standing dispute, Helenius and his legal team had moved to have his contract terminated, a move that the courtroom dismissed during Wednesday's hearing.

"We have never understood for what reason Robert had wished to terminate the agreement," wonders Kalle Sauerland. "We had developed and guided him before his injury to European Championship and a World Number One ranking.

"We hope now we can quickly pick up the pieces and that Robert will resume what had been a very promising career. We hope to be promoting a show in Finland with Robert before the summer." [Click Here To Read More]

Kinda knew this was coming. Glad Sauerland haven't been allowed to be bullied about.

Judge has ruled rightly so too, Sauerland built and made Helenius into the name he was before his lengthily lay off. The money they invested should only rightly be earned back for them.

BS. The court gave no ruling on the contract (which expired long ago) itself, but Sauerland has no right to stop Helenius from fighting.

"Unbeaten heavyweight Robert Helenius’ agent Kari Uoti has informed the organizers of GIGA Estonian Boxing Night, that the Åland Islands Court decided to dismiss Sauerland Event’s claims and the therefore Helenius has no obstacles stepping into the ring in Tallinn, Estonia on Saturday. According to Uoti, Sauerland issued a claim to prevent Helenius from fighting in Tallinn, but the Åland Islands Court did not see a reason to institute the proceedings."

The truth is that Helenius is practically a free agent. Sauerland is never going to arrange any fights for him. The court in Åland decided that Sauer can not hinder him from fighting with whom he wants to, in the events he want to. Does that sound like a free agent doesn't it.
Sauerland don´t want to end up in court so everyone would hear what kinda slave contracts they have. All the other Sauerland fighter would want to update their contracts too. The contract is so bad it is violating basic rights of an employee and are against the European law.
