Why? Because a crowd is a cheering when a fighter comes out. Well that certainly told me

They moved Golovkin to the main room at the Garden against Geale in his previous fight and it absolutely tanked.

Smaller venue, cheaper tickets and an established star on the undercard and it sells out.

Come on. It's not rocket science. I'm not saying Golovkin isn't a fast rising star but to suggest that Donaire had nothing to do with the ticket sales for his last fight is plain ignorant.

Proksa fight, I personally think more people where Europeans went for Dzin and Proksa... from what I've seen.

He was the undercard fight for Garcia

Macklin, don't know but it was in Connecticut... weird place

Last couple of shows I've been to, most people I've seen were there for him. Theater show for Stevens, Stevens had a decent amount there, but a lot of people were there for GGG.

MSG show with Geale, it was crazy the amount of people that was there for him.

The Rubio fight you can argue that Donaire helped sell, but if this show does well, then....I think GGG gets a little bit of credit

I think with alot of people, they view Golovkin's fights with Rubio & Monroe as a mismatch/short night (rightfully so), and would love to go to his fights but can't justify unless there's something extra. I know TR was always disappointed in Donaire never developing into a draw in Cali or even the Philippines, but him vs Walters very likely pushed the tipping point for those people on the fence into going. IDK if Gonzalez's debut will be enough for Golovkin/Monroe though.

They sold a little over 6k after the first 2 weeks on the Rubio fight, so they're a little behind, but slight further away from the fight as well. Having May/Pac, then Alvarez/Kirkland right before could hurt this one as well. Good synergy for tv numbers, but bad for traveling fans.

I hope GGG continues to win and get more popular, he's what boxing needs.

I hope this fight flops so they don't keep thinking it's ok to serve up such horrendous mismatches

Your argument was that most of the people who were there, weren't there for him at the stub hub center, anything else is irrelevant. Don't be such a pessimist bro

Still wrong. I said Donaire on the card clearly helped ticket sales. HeroBando tried to lie and say that the tickets were sold before Donaire got added to the card. I proved him wrong with facts.

Keep up. I'm usually off my **** on something when I post here. That's no excuse

James DeGale is my favourite fighter. There are probably 3 or 4 guys in the SMW division alone that I prefer to Andre Ward.

                      But yeah.....Ward's my favourite fighter....
