Comments Thread For: Top Rank Inks Clarence Booth To Promotional Deal

Rising welterweight prospect Clarence Booth has inked a promotional pact with Top Rank, it was announced Wednesday afternoon.

Booth made a lasting impression on the Vegas-based promotional company after appearing on its undercard for each of his past two fights.

The fighting pride of St. Petersburg, Florida is coming off of a 1st round knockout of Osenohan Vazquez in their UniMas-televised scrap just three weeks ago in Tampa, Florida.

“Clarence Booth has great size with power and speed,” Top Rank Vice President of Operations Carl Moretti said in a press statement. “He should be a force in the junior welterweight and welterweight divisions. His fan base in the Tampa–St. Petersburg areas will make him into a major attraction.” [Click Here To Read More]

Whoever this guy is, he must have family in China that he wants to visit a couple of times a year. Why else would anybody still sign to Top Rank so they can fight at 1pm on the undercard of overhyped overprotected amateurs 10k miles away from anything?

I imagine he would be a guy that would get some time on Top Rank's Tru Tv series that starts in May.

I like how you tied your emotional bias of a promotional company to this young man. He's a young professional fighter that signed with a major promotional company, I'd say that's an achievement for this guy. How many aspiring fighters never make the pro's? Or fail to sign with a big company? Lastly, who the **** are you to judge this guy anyways, GTFOH.

He just had a fight on UniMas on the same card of another Pat Lynch/Top Rank fighter, Julian Rodriguez...who looks pretty good.

I'll be interested to see how Booth develops.

Top Rank is good at scouting talent. I haven't seen Booth, but look forward to seeing him in a televised fight in the near future.

                Agreed.

                This is his last fight:
