"Boxing is not a sport anymore." Tony Kornheiser on PTI

They were discussing the 24 year old linebacker who retired from the NFL for health reasons. He was stating how the NFL is headed towards the way of Boxing and that kids are going to stop participating in American football. He says Boxing has five big nights a year and that it has declined in popularity because of the health concerns.

I think it is amazing when American sports journalists declare Boxing not popular and does not have much of a following. When you look at the success of the sport of Boxing in Latin America, Europe and certain parts of Asia that is an untrue statement. The two highest paid athletes in the world are boxers. It is not my opinion but if you look at Boxing on a global scale American football and hockey do not have even close to the following Boxing has. I also agree with his statement completely about what he is stating about the state of the sport in the United States.

Boxing hasn't declined due to health reasons, that's a load of bs. It's declined because people have other entertainment options and often times boxing has disappointing/boring fights.

No, Kellerman hasn't been on ESPN TV in many years. He does co-host a radio show on a local Los Angeles ESPN station.
