Hall of Fame trainer Nacho Beristain is expecting that his greatest pupil, former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez, will retire from boxing. Marquez, now 41-years-old, has not fought since May 2014, when he defeated Mike Alvarado by unanimous decision at The Forum in Los Angeles, California.
Later in the year he decided to resume his training, but he has not been able to go full stream in the gym due to a lingering knee injury. Marquez made his debut on May 29, 1993 in Mexico City. He had 64 fights, of which he had won 56, lost seven and drew one.
