I watched the Heiland-Macklin fight the other day and i gotta say he looks like a big middlweight. This could easily become a cherry pick gone wrong for Cotto.

Heiland would "Trout" Cotto because of his southpaw style

Heiland is a top ten MW. He is not a big puncher or a skilled boxer but has a lot of heart and superb stamina for a MW. This would be a great fight, believe me...

Nothing wrong with this at all, at least he isn't fighting a LMW or WW. Heiland has a legit chance of winning as well. We really don't know how good Cotto is at MW. He beat a crippled opponent who was there for the taking.

He would have to defend his title even though he isn't a middleweight because its a middleweight title. I have also said plenty of times that if he doesn't plan of defending the title then vacate & go back down to 154lbs.

That 50 mill deal is not for fights only. In addition to the fights, it also covers the costs for concert promotions in Puerto Rico and support of Cotto's charity to fight childhood obesity.

In reality, Cotto is probably getting around 10 mill per fight with the rest going to the other business ventures and charity of his.

Compared to K9, Rios or Bradley, Heiland is better.

                    Legit...maybe, big guy.

I'd watch, just not pay for it. Maybe even go up there for the fight, wouldn't have done it for K9 or Bradley or Rios

Is 50 million for 3 fights. The other stuff like the charity and cost for concerts is what could push it over 100 million. The article is on espn deportes where they outline the contract.

I would guess they would pay him like this

                      1st fight - 10 million
                      2nd fight - 20 million - probably Canelo
                      3rd fight - 20 million - hoping for Floyd
