I sparred with castro back in 1992 in Pensacola when he was about to fight RJ, Jr. and one thing I remember is that he was a lot slicker and cagier than he looked on TV.

You really are John Scully? I havn't seen your fights but I've heard of you. Question, Castro is known to have some wicked bombs, how was his power in sparring?

And Chavez was like that too, he could box, but that wasn't his style once he got in the ring.

cool.His fight with John David Jackson is one of my all time favs.

Castro was seeming to be a strong puncher and I imagine that with small gloves he would have some real kick in his shots. He didn't compare to Lamar Parks, though. Lamar had DYNAMITE in his punches

The amazing thing about Castro is that he hardly ever trained, he said he was very, very rarely in the gym.

Parks was quite an exciting little prospect, attack-minded, heavy-handed, if I remember?

Scully, would Parks of given Roy Jones a tougher fight than Griffin did (at MW circa 92-94)?
