  • Comments Thread For: Cunningham: When Will Fans Get Tired of Bad Decisions?

Philadelphia--In the aftermath of his IBF elimination bout this past Saturday at the Bell Centre in Montreal, former two-time cruiserweight world champion and current heavyweight contender Steve "USS" Cunningham wants to state his case to what the boxing world saw, and that is the wrong man had his hand raised.

The viewing public saw that Cunningham controlled the bout and out landed Vyacheslav Glazkov in eight of the twelve rounds with jabs being virtually even and Cunningham landing more power shots to the tune of 123-84. [Click Here To Read More]

Steve is right about this being sickening, but it is also aggravating, and unfortunately, I've seen it as long as I've been watching boxing. Try explaining this to a young boxing fan as I heard someone do just this weekend; there is really no explanation that brings an end to the questions of why this has to be.

SOME Fans are too bias to CARE, if it is not somebody they like getting robbed THEY DON'T CARE!

I remember that Lennox Lewis vs Evander Holyfield decision it was a lot of Americans that was pissed off about that Decision regardless if Holyfield was American and Lennox Lewis wasn't. So Fight Fans with a BRAIN want things to be Fair but then you have those fans who could careless about the sport they just want the people they like to be successful and they don't care at what cost

How about having a Judges Score, Boxing Writers Score and Fans Poll! I remember ESPN Friday Night Fights doing a Fan Poll during the fight and I thought the fans Voting was very accurate and Fair so trying to factor in the fans opinions wouldn't be a bad thing

When ALL bad decisions are treated EQUALLY.

Two of the WORST decisions in boxing in the past 2 years happened against the SAME fighter: Jessie Vargas

He lost to both Khabib Allakhverdiev AND Anton Novikov and that just got swept under the rug.

I missed USS-Glazkov (not surprised there's controversy... Glazkov always seems to get the benefit of the doubt in close decisions. He was terrible against Derrick Rossy in his last fight) but until people start caring about ALL bad decisions and not just hand pick which ones they wanna complain about, nothing is going to happen.

The scorecards for Novikov-Vargas were absolutely criminal. Arrests should of been made and prosecution should of followed for corruption. Those were two undefeated fighters who got robbed as well.
