To his credit, he is right. He does take punches on the side of his head while looking, while trying to land a Haymarker. He did it against Lucian Bute, playing possum.

Bute isn't a killer like Kovalev is. Pascal did have moments of success, but it was nothing to overcome the strength of Kovalev. Furthermore, Pascal's moments were single counters, mainly haymaker right hands that left him incredibly vulnerable. Single shots are only gonna keep Kovalev on the defensive for so long. Pascal was starting to fade, he didn't do a thing in that 8th rd and that led me to believe that he was done. It was a great fight and a great, appropriate stoppage.
