Comments Thread For: Thurman Breaks Down 5/2, Sides With Mayweather

WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman gave a breakdown of the upcoming mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. The welterweight unification is scheduled for May 2nd from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Thurman is technically the WBA's mandatory challenger to the Mayweather-Pacquiao winner. He holds the WBA's 'regular' title and Mayweather-Pacquiao will have the WBA's 'super title' at stake. The WBO/WBC titles will also be up for grabs in the contest.

Thurman expects some wild waters for Mayweather, but still sides with him to come away with the victory.

I don't see WBA forcing mandatory fight for Thurman to get winner his best bet is to go get IBF title from brook then Prob have unification fight with pac vs floyd winner

When Thurman is done with his career or even before that time, he should be a commentator for HBO or Showtime or similar. He is a pretty smart guy who has solid analytical skills. No doubt he could do well. Start out as guest commentator.

The winner of Floyd-PAC will probably face Khan unless there's a rematch.. But Brook and Thurman are also possibilities.

              Floyd-PAC winner vs. Khan
              Brook vs Thurman.

              Winners square off next year.

Floyd or PAC vs Thurman would be very interesting though. I'd pick both vets to humble the young lion.

You have to respect his analysis for the fight. It's logical and he makes some good points.

and Yes, Pacquiao is a more tougher AND experienced opponent compared to maidana.

I think Thurman has called the fight perfectly. Might not go down like that, but I think he's spot-on regarding the tactics.
