    George Foreman vs Shannon Briggs

Just rewatched the fight and what a robbery it was, Foreman out landed Briggs and landed at a 58% connect rate. Foreman was 48, Briggs was 26 and he was getting beaten by an "old man" in Foreman. That old man wasn't even breathing hard after the fight. Just makes you think how well Foreman would have done if he was fighting in the 90's 00's and now. Also puts Ali's victory in to perspective. https://********/iky06yiLrwI

He did fight in the 90's...most of the decade including the Shannon Briggs fight.

Don't think so, from what I've heard the old Foreman and the Foreman that fought Ali were quite different fighters.

Sorry bad wording, fight was in 97 if i remember correctly. I meant how a prime Foreman would have done

              I agree with OP!!

Shannon Briggs should never have won that first title. Old Foreman beat him convincingly!

Ironically Foreman should never have had the lineal championship anymore for Briggs to be gifted because George himself had in reality lost it to Axel Schultz who was also robbed. But that's another story.

There are great parallels between Foreman and Briggs. Both leanish guys when younger and massive when older, both hard hitters with great KO performance and neither of them technically that good, but got better as they got older.

              Foreman UD Briggs.

              A fight between a 70's Foreman and a 90's Briggs or a 90's Foreman and a 10's Briggs would have been interesting.

I completely agree, Foreman seemed to dominate Briggs every time I see that fight, it was an odd decision. And a prime Foreman would have murdered most of the heavies of the 90s

Yea that decision stunk. Of all the robberies, past and present, this was one of the worst ones that doesn't get spoken of much. Foreman clearly won 8-4. Its a real shame he had to end his career on a crappy decision.
