    Rid**** Bowe

I am from the Bedstuy Boxing Center in Brooklyn, NY and was a big fan of Rid**** Bowe. As a young kid, I traveled to vegas with our team from the gym when he beat Holyfield for the title.

That was Bowe's only and last great fight. He had a couple decent wins after that but you saw his decline as he rarely was in shape and totally disrespected the sport as a champion.

I am proud of Rid**** for what he's done in the ring but I do not think that he is IBHOF worthy.

    Do you?

Bowe was good. I enjoyed his fights back in the day...Bowe always seemed a bit neverous around Lewis though.

He got in based on beating Holyfield 2 of 3 (he probably would have won the second fight if not for the fan man). But the way he ducked Lennox Lewis was shameful, not to mention all the good/great fighters he never faced during his run (Tyson, Lewis, Mercer, Morrison, Rudduck, Foreman, Moorer to name a few). The only good fighters he fought was Holyfield (a much smaller fighter) and Golota (who ended his career and beat him bad twice).
So no he doesn't deserve the HOF.

              More like 91-95,

But yeah if you listed the top ten heavies of the 90s he would be top 3 with evander and lennox, and ahead of tyson and foreman IMO

Indeed. All of those guys you mentioned would have been more than worthy to beat Bowe. Loved the Tyson V Ruddock fights. Amazing how Lewis just sparked Ruddock out in 2 with that two-piece combo. I have not given a damn about this Klitscho reign... Miss the old school HWs.

I would have loved Bowe vs. Ruddock. I think Bowe stops him in an all time great match up. Bowe vs. Mercer would be one hell of a fight. I'm sure the sparring matches between them in the 88 Olympic camp was great.

The only thing I remember about Bowe was how Golota beat his a s s! and how he joined the military but quit after a few days of basic training!
