Is this official? I'll give props to Hatton if he vacated the IBF title to take on Collazo instead of that Rabahn(?) guy...

Ok i read this on a site. Looks like Hatton got caught trying to lie about Collazo's broken hand and had no choice to fight him. Im picking Collazo to win this one.

collazo is going to lose. He was only fighting 6 round fights a couple of fights ago. Hatton will go right through him

                You just don't like Hatton.

Anyway, as it happens, I give Collazo a good chance in this fight, but Hatton has to be the favorite. He is, after all, the only real champ of the two. I hope Hatton doesn't drop his Ring belt for this twatster strap.

I have an idea. How about the WBA give suspenders to its "regular" tilists?

collazo was not fighting 6 rounders a couple of fights ago.
he fought some winning fighters, especially the last 3. felix flores, jose antonio rivera, and a veteran miguel angel gonzalez.
of course hatton will be the favorite, by a lot. no one will expect a lost from him. his team just signed a 3 fight deal with hbo so they dont want to choose a first opponent who will spoil those plans. thats why they are taking to long to choose an opponent.
But honestly they chose the wrong guy with collazo. it wont be easy for hatton. he's definately gonna have to earn it to win. and if he's good he'll have no problems.

                    reach advantage

At 72" Collazo will have a significant reach advantage on Hatton with his 65" reach. That means that Ricky will have to be in great shape and force the action, working his way inside and throwing plenty of hooks to the head and body. I have no idea how Collazo fights. If he's an outside boxer who clinches on the inside let's hope that a good no-clinching type of referee is chosen.

Personally I think that Hatton should have tried hard to stay at 140 lbs. His reach of 65" is just too small for a world class welterweight unless you're in great shape, very aggressive, fast and can punch well on the inside. Ricky has most of those qualities but it remains to be seen if he can retain them for very long. It's a lot easier to fight at welterweight with a reach in the +70" range.
