It seems that P4P now means "Most popular fighters" instead of who's the most skilled.

No it means if the fighters were the same size who would be champ.

Everybody has their own pfp list and rightfully so since it is based on opinion and nothing else. Canelo is 10th on my list and could easily go higher because he is only 24 and improves with every fight. GGG is number 1 to me without a doubt. Rigo, Kovalev, Mayweather and Pacquiao are 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th on my list in no particular order and a big win could raise any of them up. Kovalev is great, but better than GGG? I don't think so. Kovalev has a draw on his record and has been knocked down a few times but not GGG. GGG has KOed about a dozen top 10 world ranked middleweights. Some people forget this because he beats them so easily that they get dropped from the top 10 world ratings. GGG has been KOing 4 or 5 challengers a year and that's more than any other champion in boxing today.

GGG n canelo have a lot hype n fans but these guys fight in deeper divisions and defeated better fighters imo
Canelo no, GGG yes. It's not his fault MW isn't a great division. It's not like Romans knocking p4p fighters left and right either down in his weight class.

Which due to how colossally subjective that notion is, ends up being a popularity list.

That's why quality of opposition, rankings, championship fights matter

Any A class fighter can look great against average comp.

GGG def has A class talent n am pedigree to boot...but some accolades are premature...people had him foty in I think '13....the level of comp wasn't there... Not his fault but I judge of what is done in the ring....its only fair

Perhaps NOT GGG's fault but... Until he swims in deeper waters, we simply cannot truly assess nor ascribe to him, bonafide greatness.

I mean, Rios looked like a killer against Alvarez recently.
