Comments Thread For: Roy Jones: Cruiser Title Shot Win Or Lose, I’m Done

We’ve come not to believe most boxers when they set out their own timetables for hanging up their gloves. And so take with a grain of salt what Roy Jones said about his campaign to challenge for a cruiserweight world title — ideally against Marco Huck

“When I get the cruiserweight title, I’m done,” Jones said.

      Thank god.

How much longer will the licensing comitees and tv networks allow him to ruin his legacy.

People forget in his absolute prime, and purely as a fighting specimen, an elite athlete and whilst moving through divisions carrying KO power he is probably Top 5 p4p of all time. David Haye and FMJ both took elements of RJJ. Only SRR, Ali and Leonard can match or supersede his feats and style. STAND UP RJJ, Y'all must have forgot!!!

It's tough to love something so hard that you think doesn't love you back enough.
                It can kill you.

RJJ was ruined by Calzaghe. He was never the same after that fight. Joe just dominated him like no other and took Roys soul. He lost before the Calzaghe fight but no loss ever crushed him like that one.

He dropped Calzaghe in that fight- no? Glen Johnson dominated him like no other then KO'D him for several minutes.. Calzaghe took advantage of his diminished confidence and skill set .
