Just saying I wish Kovalev was appreciated more. He should be selling out venues in the USA as a headliner like GGG but instead has to fight in other fighter's home bases to draw a crowd or small arenas like where most of Main Events fights are held.

Might be time for him to have a fight in Russia.

I was hoping he could build a fanbase in Montreal and fight out of there but they boo him a lot so it seems unlikely.

Personally I've always felt GGG is the more sound fighter. Kovalev is just fortunate enough to be in a division where guys have the balls to fight him. I will admit though that Kovalev has a far better resume. I'd say Pascal is better than anyone GGG has fought and Hopkins speaks for itself no matter what his age is.

It's too bad there isn't a Pascal and 50 year old Hopkins at 160 willing to fight Golovkin, that is the difference in their resumes.

Kovalev was in the exact same boat as Golovkin just recently until Hopkins stepped up to fight him, and that only happened because Al Haymon stalled the Hopkins vs Stevenson fight.

To be fair though, Golovkin at this point has legitimately cleaned out the division of anyone willing to face him at this point, and they are both the boogey man in their division.

Unfortunately, Golvkin, has his path to the lineal crown blocked by Cotto, who should have never been given a shot at Martinez to begin with.
