Stevenson is with Haymon and he is part of the PBC series. Kovalev has a contract with HBO.

If the WBC enforces the mandatory, it will go to purse bids. Only way the fight happens is if Michel wins the bid and HBO lets Kovalev fight on the PBC series. If Main Events wins the bid, Stevenson will drop the WBC belt but he'll remain the lineal champion.

I don't see HBO allowing Kovalev to fight Stevenson on another network. They don't gain anything from that. They'll turn their hype machine towards Kovalev-Ward instead.

The fight has been mooted for later this year, Stevenson and Michel sound receptive to the fight and ensured they will not be vacating.
