    Where is Hozumi Hasegawa?

I know he got blasted by Kiko in his last fight and some people say he is chinny but keep in mind he has only been stopped by fighters with real proven power. He also has some pop himself and is a pretty good little fighter, would like to see him in action again.

Anyone know if he is fighting anytime soon?

    Next fight is in May:

Kohei Oba retirement ceremony (March 4th)
The first notable event of the month comes on March 4th when former Japanese Bantamweight champion Kohei Oba takes part in his retirement ceremony. Whilst it may not sounds particularly interesting it does serve another purpose. Oba will take part in a short spar as part of the ceremony and that spar will see him spending time in the ring with Hozumi Hasegawa. We know it's not a real ***8220;fight***8221; but it will be the first chance we'll have to see Hasegawa in the ring since his loss to Kiko Martinez, and with his comeback bout in May this could tell us if Hasegawa anything left or not.

Over the last few months the WBA have been to their old tricks of handing out “interim” world titles, after announcing that they had planned to have a single title per division. Multiple times....

He had a large portion of this forum on his bandwagon as the king of the lower weight classes, he kind of fell off hard.

Last time I saw him he got KO by Kiko Martinez

I don't think he is a great fighter, Not on the level of Rigo or Frampton anyway.

He semi-retired then apparently is going to try a comeback I think he's past his best and should stay retired.

He was a very good fighter in his prime.

Was meant too be retiring but now it seems it is not the case. Love Hasa very fast hands, good mover and some good power but his downfall was he was a warrior at heart too easy to get dragged in. That straight right left hook was a brutal combo

I always hoped he and Donaire would cross paths. Dude has had a good career either way, though. Doesnt have a lot left but another fight or two wouldnt hurt.

Horacio Garcia is very average. The only comparison to another fighter that I can think of is Leo Santa Cruz's last opponent, Jesus Ruiz. Garcia isn't as good as Ruiz though (unless he improved a lot). I think Carl Frampton was using Horacio Garcia as his primary sparring partner for the Chris Avalos fight so maybe that made Garcia a better fighter.

Hasegawa vs. Garcia should be a competitive fight. Hasegawa is shot or near shot, and Garcia just isn't anything special despite what his inflated record says.
