Would Andre Ward have been better off making a name for himself at MW?

Andre Ward gets played out a lot on NSB forums a lot due to his inactivity. People either want him to retire, move up, or fight GGG on his first fight back. So to all the Ward haters, if he wouldve started at MW and won a title or 2 then moved up to SMW to become linear champ, would he have gotten more respect?

IMO MW has always been a coming out division in boxing like the lightweight division but Ward totally ignored that division when I think at the beginning of his career he couldve made that weight easily, no crying over spilt milk but Wards had some bad management advice.

Not at all. The guy had a great thing with the super six tournament and established himself. His problem became his lack of activity which would have hurt him in any weight.

He turned down major fights with Bute and rematches with Froch for God knows what reasons, because he would have won those fights.

The last Ward's fight at the MW was against Boone -- when he was floored face first.

          What he said.

Super Six Tournament was a great opportunity.

He'd be better off if he didn't fight he's a horrendous stain on the sport.

He wasn't. He only boxed in the LHW division at the Olympics, in order to let his buddy Dirrell participate at the MW...

All the top guys were at super middleweight like Abraham, Kessler and Froch.

No, he should just fight more. GGG has been doing nothing but beating up no-hopers, that's much better than NEVER fighting.

No. He couldn't make that weight.
